A Sanctuary of Healing & Growth

We all carry some form of trauma, whether we’re aware of it or not. The first step to healing is recognizing how it shows up in your life—and that’s where the journey begins.

At Refuge Counseling & Wellness Services, I am committed to helping you uncover, understand, and transform the trauma that holds you back. This is the heart of post-traumatic growth. Trauma often manifests as anxiety, depression, mood struggles, or recurring conflicts in marriage, parenting, and relationships. It shows up in the way you cope with stress and the barriers you face in living fully. Whatever shape it takes, I gently guide you to the root of your pain, using proven, evidence-based treatments like EMDR, CBT, and deep psychoanalytic work to unveil the unconscious forces that shape your behaviors.

Breakthrough is possible. Restoration is waiting. Let’s uncover your path to healing together.

Hey, I’m Hermeisha!

Founder of Refuge Counseling Wellness Services

As a certified EMDR trauma therapist, I specialize in helping individuals, couples, and families navigate the complexities of anxiety, trauma, and spiritual growth through EMDR, Psychoanalytic Therapy, and Biblical Counseling (upon request). As a trauma-focused practitioner, I am deeply passionate about restoring wholeness—unearthing the unconscious wounds that shape our thoughts and behaviors, and addressing how they impact not just our mental and emotional well-being, but also our spiritual growth, wellness, and witness.

Beyond therapy, I also offer coaching and consulting services for those seeking practical wisdom and guidance in personal growth, career development, and faith. If you’re looking for a speaker for your church, group, or public event, I would be honored to equip and inspire.

Healing is possible. Growth is inevitable. Your breakthrough starts here. Let’s connect.

When Past Trauma Floods The Present

As a certified EMDR trauma therapist, I am a firm believer that all of our mental health struggles can be traced back to our individual and collective experiences with trauma. When they do, that is when we extend forgiveness. The Gospel message is based off this example, that God extends forgiveness, “when” we believe. Belief is exercised…
